3 Tipps für ein gelungenes Lehrergespräch in der Schule: Teamwork statt Sabotage

Wer wird schon gerne von Lehrern zum Gespräch eingeladen? Ich zumindest nicht. Denn so eine Einladung erfolgt ja nicht ohne Grund und der ist zumeist nicht positiv. Damit das Gedankenkarussel nicht frei dreht und dir somit die Chance auf einen sinnvollen Austausch verbaut, habe ich drei wichtige Tipps:
1. Akzeptiere die Aussagen des Lehrers
Nein, dein Kind ist in der Schule meist nicht genau so wie Zuhause. Für viele Eltern ist dieser Perspektivwechsel schwer zu akzeptieren. Aussagen wie „Das würde mein Kind nie machen“ oder „Das kann ich mir bei meinem Kind überhaupt nicht vorstellen“ helfen an der Stelle nicht weiter. Akzeptiere, dass Lehrer dein Kind anders erleben und billige ihnen ihre Sicht der Dinge zu.
2. Bleibe sachlich
Wenn es um unsere Kinder geht sind wir am verletzlichsten. Klar, dass wir unseren Nachwuchs verteidigen und schützen wollen. Doch wir sollten den Lehrer nicht als Gegenspieler sehen, der unserem Kind etwas Schlechtes will. Persönliche Angriffe wie „Es ist ja bekannt, dass Sie … sind“ oder „Scheinbar sind Sie ja nicht in der Lage, mein Kind objektiv zu betrachten“ führen nur zu einem unproduktiven Gesprächsverlauf. Emotionen raus, Sachebene rein!
3. Triff Vereinbarungen
Ein Eltern-Lehrergespräch sollte immer mit einem konkreten Ergebnis enden. Das kann z.B. eine Vereinbarung sein, sich in 4 Wochen wieder zu treffen und die Veränderung zu besprechen. Oder auch die Absprache, einmal pro Woche per Mitteilungsheft zu kommunizieren. So gibt es eine klare Linie, wie die gewünschte Veränderung erreicht werden soll. Natürlich ist es auch sinnvoll, diese dem Kind zu kommunizieren.
Noch ein kleiner Hinweis am Rande: Du bist nicht mehr selber Schüler!
Viele Eltern fallen bei so einem Gespräch automatisch zurück in ihre eigene Schulzeit und werden sehr nervös. Aber keine Sorge: Du triffst dich mit dem Lehrer auf Augenhöhe. Versteht euch als Teamplayer, nicht als gegnerische Seiten. Schließlich geht es darum, für dein Kind das bestmögliche Ergebnis zu erzielen.
Solltest du andauernde Konflikte mit einem Lehrer haben, dann melde dich direkt bei mir. Manchmal sind Situationen so verfahren, dass man als Eltern Hilfe von außen benötigt. Als Lehrerin und Mutter kann ich dir an Stellen weiterhelfen, an denen du bisher nicht weitergekommen bist.
